Package Tours

跟團

John: Do you think we should choose a package tour for our trip to California?

Mary: Definitely. For trips to the U.S., a package tour can be cheaper than making arrangements on your own. I found a 5-day package for under 600 dollars.

John: Wow, that’s cheap! It must not include airfare, right?

Mary: No, but it does include airport pick-up from SFO. There’s a day tour in San Francisco, a visit to Hollywood landmarks in L.A., a casino tour in Vegas and a visit to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon.

John: What about accommodations and transportation?

Mary: That price is for double occupancy at mid-range hotels. Transportation between cities is on air-conditioned tour coaches.

John: So that means we get our own room. I can live with that. Are meals included in the tour price?

Mary: No. But as long as we stick to fast food, we’ll be fine.

Flight & Hotel Packages

跟團

Paul: I was just looking at hotel prices in New York and they’re crazy!

Lisa: Yeah. But there are ways to cut costs. For example, we can book a flight and hotel package. When you make you flight and hotel booking together though an online travel agency, you can get really good discounts on hotel rooms.

Paul: Awesome! Then we’ll have more to spend on Broadway shows.

Independent Travel

跟團

Adam: How about planning our own trip to New England?

Monica: Well, can you imagine me carrying a backpack all over the place?

Adam: We don’t have to be backpackers to travel independently. As long as we pack light, we can take our carry-on suitcases with us on buses and trains.Monica: I suppose. But you know I don’t sleep well on those bunk beds they have at hostels.

Adam: Well, we’ll only have to stay at hostels to save money in big cities like Boston. When we’re in small towns, we can stay at quaint little inns and B&Bs.

Monica: OK, you convinced me. It’ll also be nice to have more flexibility and not rush from place to place like they do on tours.

Half-Day City Tour

跟團

Tourist: Can you suggest a good, all-inclusive tour around Washington?

Travel Agent: Certainly. Are you interested in a half-day or a full-day tour?

Tourist: I think a half-day tour would be fine. We’d like to see the most famous sights.

Travel Agent: Then I’d suggest our national monument tour. You get to see plenty of sights and also learn some interesting history.

Tourist: What kind of transportation do you provide for the tour?

Travel Agent: We have comfortable, air conditioned buses. Your driver will be your guide and narrator.Tourist: Do we also get free time to explore the sights on our own?

Travel Agent: A little. We make a stop to visit the National Mall. However, most of the sightseeing is done from the bus.

Self-Guided City Tour

跟團

Tourist: Is there a way to take a tour of D.C. and also enjoy the sights on our own?

Travel Agent: How about a self-guided tour? We’ve got booklets that explain the sights to you as you go.

Tourist: That sounds great. Do they include maps?

Travel Agent: Of course. The guide booklet will also tell you exactly which buses to take. It also includes bus and Metro maps and schedules.

Tourist: How much does the self-guided tour cost?

Travel Agent: We sell our guide booklets for $5. But of course, you’ll have to pay for everything else yourself.

Tourist: One last question. Can you recommend a good place to eat? We just want something cheap and convenient.

Travel Agent: Actually, there’s a great deli around the corner from here. They’ll make any sandwich you want and pack it to go.
